Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office creates additional fund for Cornwall and Devon
We are delighted to once again be administering The Commissioner’s Community Grant Scheme on behalf of The Office of Police and Crime Commissioner for Devon and Cornwall. The £170,000 funding will concentrate on community groups whose projects are focused on diverting young people and adults from becoming involved in drug activity.
Low Carbon donates additional £25K to support the local communities of the East Langford, Manor and Churchtown Solar Farms
We are delighted to receive an additional donation of £25,800 to the Build Back Better fund from East Langford, Manor and Churchtown Solar Farms, all managed by Low Carbon. Each solar farm will be contributing an additional £8,600 above their regular annual payment.
Business Support Grants – Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant
Cornwall Council is now contacting eligible businesses across Cornwall to invite applications for the Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant. Some holiday businesses may not need the grant and with the support of Cornwall Council, we are appealing to the owners of holiday businesses in that position to donate some or all of their grant to the Cornwall Community Foundation. Thank you very much to the holiday businesses that have already donated their grants.
New fund opens to support creative celebrations of Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee
A new programme to support communities creatively celebrating Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is welcoming applications from 4 January. Cornwall Community Foundation is pleased to be working with UK Community Foundations and Arts Council England to distribute this exciting new fund.
Additional grant funding available from HeadStart Kernow to support young people’s mental wellbeing
Following the success of previous rounds of grant funding, additional funding is now available to community groups supporting young people’s mental wellbeing from the Headstart Kernow Young People’s Mental Wellbeing Legacy Fund.
Cornwall Connection: Charities warn of “hidden crisis” threatening young Cornish people
Issues affecting young people in Cornwal have remained largely hidden. Young people in Cornwall face a unique set of challenges and it will require a concerted effort of people from all walks of life in Cornwall to help address this. A virtual panel event, chaired by Daphne Skinnard, will see speakers discuss the challenges and solutions that may help avert the worst long-term impact.
Surviving Winter Appeal 2021 – people in Cornwall need your help to survive this winter
We have launched our Surviving Winter 2021 campaign and appeal to anyone who receives the Winter Fuel Payment but does not need some or all of it to please donate to payment to the campaign. Donations are also welcome from people who do not receive the Winter Fuel allowance wishing to support the campaign.
