Trenouth Solar Farm Fund

Trenouth Solar Farm Fund supports community projects taking place in and/or benefiting people from the areas of St Ervan, St Issey, St Eval and St Merryn.

Projects with an educational element or awareness of reducing their carbon footprint may be given priority.

All involved with Trenouth Solar Farm strongly believe that local communities should benefit from the solar farm and the Trenouth Solar Farm Fund has been made available to support good causes local to the site.

Grant requirements

To apply for a grant your organisation must meet the general Eligibility Criteria. In addition to this, you must also meet the specific criteria of the grant listed below:

Who can apply

  • Charities, CICs and community and voluntary groups working in Cornwall or The Isles of Scilly within the criteria area

What it will support

  • Projects must take place in or benefit people from the areas of St Ervan, St Issey, St Eval and St Merryn.
  • The panel will look at a wide variety of projects but preference may be given to projects with an educational element or improving the sustainability and/or carbon footprint of your organisation or the community.
  • Your project must be completed within one year of the grant offer unless agreed otherwise.

Projects to start from 1st January onwards.

  • Commercial profit-making organisations
  • Organisations with significant free reserves, contact us if you’re unsure
  • Statutory/public sector organisations such as health authorities, schools, hospitals, parish and town councils
  • Contributions to an endowment, payment of deficit funding or repayment of loans
  • Grant making organisations or bodies who fundraise or distribute grants on behalf of other organisations
  • Retrospective grants
  • Regional offices of national bodies that do not benefit local people
  • Organisations whose beneficiaries are not people
  • Organisations or projects intended to influence people’s religious choices or to promote a particular belief system (we support religious spaces that provide an inclusive community space)
  • The promotion of political causes
