St Austell Community Kitchen
St Austell Community Kitchen (STAK) provides a safe and welcoming environment for the vulnerable, needy and homeless within the community. The Kitchen is now open 6 days per week, serving 4000 affordable meals annually, as well as providing courses, clubs, signposting, friendship and partnership working with many agencies, charities and statutory bodies.
STAK has received £3,500 support from the Crisis Fund over 5 years.
The Crisis Fund is to benefit people in crisis who are urgently in need of small, one off amounts of money. Funds can be accessed through charitable organisations throughout Cornwall who hold a pot of funds to distribute to individuals in crisis situation
Michael Mellow, Project Manager, says, “The ability to offer small grants of money from a charity who works on the front line allowed funds to be distributed to those most in need”.
