Chairs for South Petherwin Village Hall

Papillon Fund
South Petherwin Village Hall is an integral part of the local community. Regular users include line dancers, table tennis players, parish council meetings, table top sales, bingo events and children’s parties.
The hall is also host to majoy parish events for the whole community, including the much loved 2025 Flower Pot Festival.
But, with a great number of groups enjoying and relying on South Petherwin Village Hall, their chairs had become worn out and needed replacing. So, those from the hall sought funding, not just to replace the chairs with seating that will be comfortable, but also lighter chairs that would be more manageable for vulnerable groups and volunteers to handle and store.
“All village hall users have commented on the quality of the chairs that you kindly provided a grant for. The ability to store them on trolleys allows us to keep the majority of them in the storeroom when not in use.”
Through Cornwall Community Foundation, the village hall were able to get the funding they needed from the Papillon Fund for chairs and for a trolley to store them on. Attendees at the Flowerpot Festival were delighted with the new chairs and how easy it is to store them. As a result they had much more space in the Village Hall for the event itself.
Many groups have commented on how happy they are with the new chairs. We look forward to seeing more events and groups enjoy spending time together in South Petherwin Village Hall.
