The Drop In and Share Centre (DISC) in Newquay have received funding from the Emergency Fund for food and other essential supplies, so they can continue their work giving emergency service and advice for homeless and disadvantaged people in Newquay. Open five days a week, DISC have responded quickly to the ever-changing situation around Covid-19. Newquay has a large homeless community and DISC are feeding all of them. In addition, they help some very vulnerable people with support for electricity and food. Monique Collins, Manager of DISC said, “We are currently feeding 120 people a day and expecting the number to increase. We are looking forward to receiving the extra £3000.00 to support what we are doing. We are currently open five days a week but cooking for seven and today we handed out 320 meals to get them through the weekend, so that says it all.”
