The Cornwall Women’s Fund

Scary Little Girls is an inclusive, imaginative, ever-evolving feminist production company committed to messages of hope and truth…and in telling them to new, wider and increasingly diverse audiences with casts to match.

Grant awarded and impact

Scary Little Girls received a £5,000 grant from Cornwall Women’s Fund to develop a Cornish specific mentoring wing to their national programme of events for 2022\23 celebrating their 20-year anniversary, Mayven Project.

The project was multi-sited with rehearsals, workshops and shows taking place in a

locations across Cornwall. The ticketing and structure created cost effective ways of effectively creating arts opportunities in Cornwall’s more rural villages and settlements, making the work more accessible.

Building relationships with local venues and attendees created lasting connections and legacies with some audience members and mentees now employed with the company.
