Space for You Ltd create a warm and welcoming community space with a grant from our Business Club Fund 

Space for You is a charity supporting positive emotional health through creativity. 

Grant awarded and impact

In April 2023 the charity was awarded £2,500 from the CCF Business Club fundA sum of money made available for grant making, often with specific criteria/conditions. enabling them to redecorate and transform their reception and kitchen area. They have been able to create a welcoming community space for tea, coffee, chats and art activity.  

New crockery and the provision of tea and coffee facilities has provided refreshments for people attending creative art workshops, individuals attending counselling, groups that have rented the space, the walking dads club and people just popping in for a cuppa and a chat. 

This grant has made a positive impact on the lives of the beneficiariesIndividuals being supported by the group or organisation applying for a grant. by providing a space where they can meet others, receive support, share problems and solutions, and learn new skills. 

One young attendee, with a young family, was feeling very isolated having stopped drinking four years ago. He no longer wanted to socialise in a pub environment and felt unable to express how he was feeling regarding the pressures of financially and emotionally supporting a young family. After joining the Dad’s group on Sunday mornings, hosted in the Arty Cuppa, he feels he now has a space and community where he can meet other men and dads, share his anxieties, learn coping methods and new creative, meditative and physical skills whilst enjoying a cuppa. 

About the fund 

Established in 2008 the CCF business club is made up of local philanthropic businesses joining together to give back to their communities. 

Membership fees are pooled and twice annually members are invited to join a panelA group of people who review grant applications and decide which will receive funding. and decide on where their funding will be allocated.
