“We are Cornwall: Hear Our Voice” will help marginalised communities in Cornwall

Cornwall Lived Experience Partnership (CLEP) is an innovative intersectional partnership of 18 VCSE lived experience organisations representing marginalised communities in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
They were supported with a grant of £15,359 to create a short documentary film projectA piece of work that delivers an output. in partnership with Screen Cornwall – “We Are Cornwall: Hear Our Voice”. This project will help marginalised communities in Cornwall express what it means to live in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly (CIoS) and what it would mean to have their voice heard.
Zuzanna, Community Partnership and Engagement Officer for CLEP, shared:
“The funding has made a significant difference to CLEP. It has enabled us to equip communities with cameras, empowering them to continue sharing their voices long after this project ends […] This project has truly been a catalyst for community-led storytelling and representation, and we are deeply grateful for the support.”
The project will work across 18 lived experience organisations to give a platform to marginalised communities’ voices and experiences. The film shows the breadth of Cornwall’s communities, who want and need to be heard, providing creative and accessible ways to engage.
The funding provided by Cornwall Community Foundation has given CLEP the flexibility they needed to encourage creativity and innovation in the filmmaking process. This allows for genuine collaboration between communities and multiple organisations.
On top of this, the filmmaking workshops CLEP organised were incredibly well received, with participants gaining valuable skills and confidence in storytelling, filming, and interviewing.
