Cornish Lithium is supporting the UK’s transition to renewable energy by securing a supply of lithium for the batteries that power smartphones, laptops and electric vehicles.
The company’s innovative projects focus on the environmentally-responsible extraction of lithium from hard rock and geothermal waters in Cornwall’s historic mining districts.
Cornish Lithium is committed to supporting Cornish communities.
Since 2023, Cornish Lithium has awarded grants of between £250 and £2,500 to support the work of local clubs, charities and activity groups that seek to make a positive difference in its project areas.
These currently include Gwennap, Chacewater, St Day, Carharrack and St Agnes Blackwater parishes; China Clay Area and Luxulyan Community Area Partnership region, and the Redruth Tolgus area.
Each year, the company invites applications from projects that will enhance skills and education, upgrade social welfare facilities, support industrial heritage and mining history, improve environmental impacts or promote health and wellbeing.

The Cornish Lithium Community Fund will re-open for applications in 2026. Sign up for our grants newsletter for updates on all our available grants.
