The Clare Milne Trust supports disability projectsA piece of work that delivers an output. in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
The Clare Milne Trust provides grants up to £5,000 for projects improving lives of people with disabilities in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Priority will be given to organisations that:
- Are run by people with lived experience of disability
- Whose primary mission is to support people with disabilities
- Engage volunteers
- Demonstrate sustainable impact
- Address clear community needs

Grant requirements
To apply for a grant your organisation must meet the general Eligibility criteria. In addition to this, you must also meet the specific criteria of the grant listed below:
Who can apply:
- Charities, CICs and community and voluntary groups working in Cornwall or The Isles of Scilly whose main purpose is to serve those with disabilities.
What it will support:
Projects that improve the quality of life, independence, or inclusion of people with disabilities in Cornwall.
All projects must benefit children, young people or adults with a disability who live in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly. This includes physical, learning, mental and sensory disabilities. Please note: mental health conditions only qualify as a disability if they have a long-term (likely to last more than 12 months) negative effect on normal day to day activity (something you do regularly in a normal day).
The panel will consider applications for a wide range of projects – activities, advice and support, capital projects such as new equipment or building work, core costs, salaries and training.
- Projects or activities outside Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly
- Projects that address mental health challenges not classified as disabilities.
- Commercial profit making organisations
- Organisations with significant free reserves
- Statutory/public sector organisations such as health authorities, schools, hospitals, parish and town councils
- Contributions to an endowment, payment of deficit funding or repayment of loans
- Grant making organisations or bodies who fundraise or distribute grants on behalf of other organisations
- Activities or projects which have already happened
- Regional offices of national bodies that do not benefit local people
- Organisations whose beneficiaries are not people
- Organisations or projects intended to influence people’s religious choices or to promote a particular belief system
- The promotion of political causes.
The Clare Milne Trust is a charitable foundation in memory of Clare Milne. The Trust provides grants to improve lives of people with disabilities in Devon and Cornwall.
