Karenza Fund welcomes applications to support community projects in Bodmin.

The Karenza Fund supports the Community of Bodmin:
– Supporting projects that make tangible, positive difference of residents, families and local groups across the community of Bodmin
– Invest in community led ideas: backing the passion and commitment of local people who understand Bodmin needs and have the drive to make it happen
– Strengthen the fabric of local life: funding work that builds connections, reduces disadvantage, and helps people in the area thrive
– Your project must be completed within one year of the grant offer unless agreed otherwise
– You can apply for full cost recovery elements and core costs such as room rental

Grant requirements

To apply for a grant your organisation must meet the general Eligibility Criteria. In addition to this, you must also meet the specific criteria of the grant listed below:

Who can apply:

Charities, CICs and community and voluntary groups working in Bodmin

What it will support:

The purpose of the Karenza fund is to support the community and social welfare for the people of Bodmin, examples might be:

1. Projects overcoming issues of isolation, such as transport costs for groups to access services.
2. Sports Clubs
3. Community & outside spaces to enhance the enjoyment of the environment for the community Core cost such as room rental may be considered if towards a specific project but not for ongoing costs of an organisation.

All funded projects must be completed within one year of receiving the grant (projects to start from mid August)
Projects must operate within designated area of the fund

– Projects or activities outside of the listed areas
– Commercial profit making organisations
– Organisations with significant free reserves
– Statutory/public sector organisations such as health authorities, schools, hospitals, parish and town councils
– Contributions to an endowment, payment of deficit funding or repayment of loans
– Grant making organisations or bodies who fundraise or distribute grants on behalf of other organisations
– Activities or projects which have already happened
– Regional offices of national bodies that do not benefit local people
– Organisations whose beneficiaries are not people
– Organisations or projects intended to influence people’s religious choices or to promote a particular belief system
– The promotion of political causes.

The Karneza Fund was set up in 2017 to support the community of Bodmin
