Lyskerrys Fund – Business Funding

New to Cornwall Community Foundation.

The Lyskerrys Fund is focused on unlocking opportunity and supporting potential in Liskeard and its surrounding villages. The fund is about helping people to help themselves, nurturing aspiration, and investing in ideas that strengthen the local community and economy.

We are keen to support a wide range of initiatives — from established community groups and charities to new, entrepreneurial ideas that help micro, small, or start-up businesses get off the ground, where there is a clear benefit back to the community.

This fund is ONLY for micro businesses, sole traders, social enterprises, or cooperatives. If you are a charity, CIC or volunteer-led organisation please apply to our Community Funding here.

Please apply to the relevant fund, you cannot apply to both Community and Business funds.

Grant requirements

To apply for a grant your organisation must meet the general Eligibility Criteria. In addition to this, you must also meet the specific criteria of the grant listed below:

Who can apply

We welcome applications from:
  • Micro businesses, sole traders, social enterprises, or cooperatives.
  • Businesses based in Liskeard or clearly benefiting the local community.
  • Applicants must be currently trading and operating legally.
  • Start-ups are welcome if they can show clear local benefit.

What it will support:

Grants of up to £5,000 are available.
Growing Liskeard – support for micro, or start-up businesses, sole traders, social enterprises or cooperatives, where individuals or enterprises give back to the community

Types of projects it will support:

  • Equipment, tools, or essential items
  • Training, qualifications, or skills development
  • Digital improvements such as websites or online systems
  • Testing or launching a new idea, service, or product
Businesses linked with
• Invasive beauty treatments such as Botox, aesthetics, semi-permanent makeup facial tattoos or dermal fillers.
• Property development
• Drugs (this includes any business or idea connected to tobacco or vaping)
• Political or religious agendas
• Gambling
• Illegal or unregulated activity (such as cryptocurrencies)
• Finance or trading (e.g. any ideas that would need approval by the FCA)
