Cornwall Community Foundation launches Welcome Fund to support refugees and asylum seekers in Cornwall

In response to the growing need, we have launched the CCF Welcome FundA sum of money made available for grant making, often with specific criteria/conditions. to support refugees and asylum seekers moving to Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly from Ukraine and other countries. We are appealing for funding support from individuals and businesses.

Many refugees arrive with nothing. Many have experienced unimaginable trauma, having to leave behind their homes, country, and former lives. The CCF Welcome Fund will help people arriving in Cornwall and will support them to feel welcomed into Cornish communities.

The CCF Welcome Fund has been boosted by generous match fundingAn amount of money that might need raising by another funder. from Cornwall Council. This means that every single donation made will be doubled up to a maximum total of £20,000.

Grants from the Welcome Fund will be distributed to local groups and organisations offering a broad range of assistance and support, from the provision of essential items to family support and community integration.

The CCF Welcome Fund will help the charities and community groups working with refugees and asylum seekers.
