Urgent appeal: Buddha Hunt Memorial Fund

The Buddha Hunt Memorial Fund

The Buddha Hunt Memorial Fund

The aim of the Buddha Hunt Memorial Fund is to continue Buddha’s legacy of positive impact through Cornish Pirates community programmes.

Supporting Cornish communities

The Cornish Pirates have always maintained a strong relationship with the Cornish community.

The outreach team is particularly impactful in supporting the health and welfare of the people of all ages across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The skills and the accepted behaviour and values of rugby are used to increase confidence, capacity and positive behaviours for the benefit of individuals and society.

Through the gift of the time and expertise of Cornish Pirates players, programmes are enhanced by providing positive role models for young people on and off the pitch.

Buddha (Christopher) Hunt was deeply passionate about Cornish Pirates as one of their owner’s consortium.

Sally Pettipher, CEO of Cornish Pirates, said – “Buddha was a proud Cornishman and a front row player in his rugby days. He had a deep understanding of the game, and was a support to our Head Coaches, as well as an astute businessman who helped create a stronger commercial base under new ownership. He was a long-standing Harlequins supporter, and remained so; but added Pirates to his life, and we are the stronger for that. Our success is Buddha’s success as he laid the foundations for our new era.”
