Projects with an educational element or awareness of reducing their carbon footprint may be given priority.
All involved with Howton Solar Farm strongly believe that local communities should benefit from the solar farm and the Howton Solar Farm Fund has been made available to support good causes local to the site, for every year of the solar farm’s working life.

Grant requirements
To apply for a grant your organisation must meet the general Eligibility Criteria. In addition to this, you must also meet the specific criteria of the grant listed below:
Who can apply
- Charities, CICs and community and voluntary groups.
- To be eligible to apply you need to be based in the areas of Pillaton, Landrake & St Erney, St Mellion, St Dominick and Saltash.
What it will support:
The fund supports:
- Structural one off costs such as refurbishments (including wages for these to be carried out)
- One off equipment costs
The fund does not support:
- Core costs such as salaries or running costs
- Ongoing maintenance
- Restoration works to any Churches
Howton Solar Farm Community Fund supports not for profit community projects in the areas of Pillaton, Landrake & St Erney, St Mellion, St Dominick and Saltash with grants of up to £5,000.
Since 2013 the fund has awarded more than £325,000. CCF administers the fund on behalf of operator Lightsource, and a panel of local people meet twice a year to consider applications.
