Newquay Boardriders recently received funding from The Headland Hotel Community Fund to support their “Opening Doors Project”. This project is tailored support for young people to pursue surfing, improving health and wellbeing, with mentoring, equipment, and training.

Thanks to this project, individuals will be able to request a package of support which will include personal support with issues affecting their well-being, mentoring from experienced surfers and funds to pay for equipment, training, travel, and other support costs reducing barriers to engagement.

In return applicants will be supported to contribute back into the club and/or other community activity which will raise self-esteem and encourage involvement in the local community.
