The CCF recognized as Chamber of Commerce UK Business Hero 2020
The UK Business Heroes Campaign aims to recognise the incredible work that businesses and organisations are doing in the most challenging of years.
We have been awarded a UK Business Hero Award by the British Chambers of Commerce. The award is in recognition of our contribution to commerce and the fight against Covid 19.
The British Chamber of Commerce is the central body connecting and representing all 52 regional Chambers in the country. Cornwall Chamber of Commerce is supporting the UK Business Heroes campaign, which recognises British businesses that have gone above and beyond the call of duty to support their local community during the crisis.
Stephens Scown LLP, a leading law firm in the South West, nominated the Foundation. Partner, Verity Slater said, “We were so impressed by the difference the Foundation is making in giving back to the local community and supporting others in dealing with the coronavirus pandemic that we put them forward for consideration as a UK British Chambers of Commerce Business Hero. We are delighted that they have been successful.”
Tamas Haydu, CCF Chief Executive, comments: “It’s wonderful to be recognised in the UK Business Heroes awards. But the real heroes are the donors who want to support people in need and the community groups working tirelessly to help Cornish communities. It is a privilege to be able to bring together people who want to make a difference with local communities who need help.”
Thanks to the generosity of our individual and business donors we have to date awarded £1.2 Million to frontline community groups across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, helping people struggling from the effects of the pandemic. We have now also re-opened a lot of our funds temporarily closed and the Business Club awarded more than £23,000 to local projects last week.
