An evening with Cornwall Community Foundation

We would like to invite you to join us online for an ‘Evening with Cornwall Community Foundation – Shaping a better future for all in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.’ The evening will take place online at 6.30pm on Thursday 12th June.

Cornwall Community Foundation is committed to driving positive change. Since 2003 we have awarded more than £20 million in small grants to charitable groups making a positive impact; helping to overcome the challenges of disadvantage, exclusion, and poverty in our county.

However, the need for this work has never been higher. Every 3 years in collaboration with the University of Exeter, we publish our ‘Vital Signs’ report. The report brings together research, surveys, and community consultations. Together, they highlight what life is really like for many living in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

An evening with CCF

Our CEO Tamas Haydu will highlight the main findings from our 2025 ‘Vital Signs’ report. This will highlight key themes including: growing inequality, rural isolation, climate change and the lack of affordable housing in Cornwall.

We will also be exploring the key theme of housing in more depth. Hear what we are doing to try to address some of these inequalities through our current Housing Action Appeal.

Guest speakers

We will be hearing from two charities that Cornwall Community Foundation have supported for many years. Both of whom have been tackling growing inequality and poverty in Cornwall. They will be discussing challenges front-line charities are facing, and how funding from organisations like CCF is vital. Both in order to continue their work, and to meet the increasing local need.

Henry Meacock

Henry relocated to Cornwall in 2012, where he moved into social housing work.

He became a trustee and treasurer of St Petrocs in 2014 and joined the charity as Director in early 2020. In  2022 he was appointed as Chief Executive.

Jaqui White MBE
Foodbank Manager and Founder of Wadebridge Foodbank

Jacqui is the founder of one of Cornwall’s longest established foodbanks. She has worked in the charity sector for over 32 years and used her own cash to kick start the Foodbank project with the help of Wadebridge Christian Centre.

She was awarded the medal for services to charity and to vulnerable people in Cornwall by Prince William in 2020.

Who can come?

This event is for everyone. We would like to invite supporters, funders, charities and CICs wanting to hear about our ambitious plans to help reach even more individuals and communities. Or simply those wanting to learn more about Cornwall Community Foundation.
