Friend of the Foundation Anna Sharp completed as many sea swims as possible to raise money for Cornish communities

Thank you to member of the Cornwall Community Foundation (CCF) Friends Committee Anna Sharp, for raising £430 for CCF to help communities in Cornwall. Anna is an avid sea swimmer and works for the leading high-level property finders Recoco Property Search.

Last year, Founder and Managing Director Nigel Bishop and colleague Robin Thomas sponsored Anna to do as many sea swims as possible within the year. Anna amazingly managed 215 swims throughout the year, even on some of the stormiest of days. Nigel Bishop and Robin Thomas generously match-funded the donation raising the total to £430 for communities in Cornwall.

Anna Sharp said, “From growing up in Cornwall I have always swam in the sea mainly on the south coast. I find it the most amazing way to start the day, the feeling you get from sea swimming is incredible, offering head space clarity. There are some beautiful spots to swim around Cornwall which I love to discover with my friends. Typically, we tend to meet just before sunrise and jump in the sea whilst the sun is coming up.”

Chief Executive of CCF Tamas Haydu adds, “Thank you so much to Anna for donating the funds raised by her sea swims to the CCF. It is absolutely amazing that Anna managed to fit in 215 swims in a year. Annas donation will go a long way in helping people in need.”
