Budock Vean Hotel raises £4,000 to support Cornish communities.
CCF Business Club member, The Budock Vean Hotel, is a multi-award-winning country house hotel is on a quiet bend of the Helford River on the South Cornish Coast. The hotel not only offers a breath-taking place to stay but also contributes to Cornish communities via donations to Cornwall Community Foundation (CCF).
Budock Vean’s owner, Martin Barlow, recently presented a cheque for £4,093 for the last year to our Philanthropy Director, Amy Buzza-Blackwell. The money raised was the result of the Hotel guest donation scheme where guests are invited to make an optional donation at check out, the proceeds of a Gin and Jazz evening hosted by the Hotel prior to lockdown and an annual donation by the Budock Vean Hotel to support the grant-making of the CCF Business Club.
Budock Vean’s owner Martin Barlow said, “Although 2020 was a very difficult year, our guests continued to be very supportive of our fund-raising for the Foundation and we are very grateful to everyone who has made a donation. And with the support of our suppliers every penny of the ticket price for the Gin and Jazz evening went to the Foundation. We are looking forward to raising funds for the Cornwall Community Foundation again this year as we know that the pandemic has been very challenging for Cornish communities.”
Amy Buzza-Blackwell, our Philanthropy Director comments, “We are very grateful to the Budock Vean Hotel for their fund raising for the Foundation. Over the last year CCF has awarded grants totalling £1.6m, double our usual total, and it’s only the generosity of donors like the Budock Vean and their guests that make this possible.”
